Net Gay-Bi-Trans Baromètre #17

Survey on online dating habits, lifestyles, sexuality, prevention / HIV and health of MSM, TRANS people and their partners

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2017 edition of the Net Gay Baromètre, a study conducted every 3 years among Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) and trans people residing in France or in Canada.

The 2017 edition of the study questioned numerous subjects such as the use of social networks, sexual diversity, sexual orientation, coming-out, online dating, couple relationships, sexual relations with masculine or feminine occasional partners, the way sexual risk is managed within MSM, etc. It also questioned participants’ lifestyle, such as how close or distant they kept themselves from the gay community. In addition, it studies subjects that are sometimes taboo, such as barebacking, drug and alcohol consumption, transactional sex, sexual risk-taking reduction and knowledge, interest and/or adoption of HIV prevention strategies, etc.
Health is still primordial within the 2017 edition of the study, but it is now more exhaustively approached through sexual, psychological and relational health. It includes the multiple ways oneself can feel discriminated against depending on their life course, ethnic background and gender (with a specific interest in trans people whose transition processes are questioned).

You should therefore feel passionate about this survey and consider it as a real experience of introspection. In 2017, it is now impossible to address gay, bisexual, queer men and trans people’s sexuality only through HIV matters. Contemporary issues have now evolved, particularly when it comes to relationships with others, shared spaces and norms that might seem more and more oppressing.

Thus, we count on you to patiently complete this survey. It should take between 20 and 50 minutes of your time and it was also illustrated to give you a more enjoyable experience. Finally, in 2018, you will be able to see the results of the survey and communicate with us via Facebook and Twitter.
